Case Details
At around 6 a.m. on Sunday, December 19, 2010, Diane's ex-boyfriend, Kenneth Patterson, broke into her apartment in the Village at Pennbrook in Falls Twp. He allegedly beat Diane with a pipe, telling her that he was going to kill her, then grabbed a knife from the kitchen and forced both Diane and another woman, who had been sleeping on the couch in the apartment, into Diane's vehicle.
The other woman was released unharmed on Route 13 near Penn's Valley Road. Another motorist gave her a ride to the Wawa on Old Route 13, where she called 911.
Diane's car, a black, 2004 Pontiac Aztec, was located at around 7:00 that evening in parked in Camden, NJ. The interior of the car was splattered with blood and a bloody knife was on the back seat.
Patterson was arrested at 9:13pm at the Clover Motel on Route 73 in Maple Shade, NJ. His clothing appeared to be covered in blood.
Patterson had been charged with first-degree murder. He has not cooperated with law enforcement or revealed where Diane is.
In a rare ruling, a judge declared Diane dead on April 15, 2011.
